  it's a mid adaptation of the original story, calling it anything beyond that would be misinformation. it's okay at best. it changes a lot of details and really doesn't get across the point of the original story, in my opinion. the way that the signals in george's ears are shown is cool, and it's at least engaging, so it does have that going for it. idk, not a waste of time but also not genius.

  i've watched this movie. a lot of times since it first released so this isn't like a first time opinion sorry but the sets and costumes and overall design of this movie is so beautiful, the visuals are so gorgeous and the music is good and fits in with the story in a way that actually makes sense. the dialogue is awkward almost always but it doesn't take away from my viewing experience so it's fine, the movie can't have all pros i guess. but i like it a lot :-)

  this movie was ... strange. too many plotlines, too much "the author's poorly disguised fetish", and really not nearly enough resemblance to the original. 3 stars because i'm a sucker for nostalgia and also cause i think michael keaton did very well as beetlejuice even 40 years later but honestly that's a pretty generous rating imo. at least it was funny sometimes, it has that going, i guess, but honestly it felt like i should have tiktok style subway surfers…
