soundtrack is so good. queer movies from the 90s are the best- i feel such nostalgia for the era. you grow up and go through experiences you can't quite put into words.. it feels like uncharted territory. bittersweet indie film that i will never forget

this movie was heartbreaking. it's hard to be objective because i relate to some parts of the film so much. i thought seeing previous leaders of exodus was a really interesting perspective, and i thought julie's story resonated with me the most. however, i do feel like this film was incomplete- like it was just scratching the surface of how horrible conversion therapy can be. i also wish it mentioned another survivors point of view.
seeing jeffery on the screen everytime was so fucking depressing... he is a shell of a human...

im actually kind of shocked.. I was expecting it to be terrible based on what I've heard but i actually was pretty entertained. I do feel like some of the critiques are valid; the characters have very little chemistry and I feel like some parts were less interesting than others. I loved the ending though! maybe if I watched it follows I would understand the low ratings
