This movie absolutely nails the high points of "cosmic horror" in the modern age. A great example of a movie remake that takes the best parts of the original and updates it for a different time/audience. The original blob was a true blue B-movie creature feature that had solid cinematography; this movie is more of the same, but now with truly excellent monster effects.
