Kung Fu Panda 4 2024
Jack Black returns as Po after a likely way-too-long, eight-year lapse since the previous film. New and recognizable voices Awkwafina (Zhen) and Viola Davis (The Chameleon) give strong enough performances that carry the weight of the film; the latter sparks a refreshingly new and creative villain type. There is a major twist but soon after it takes place, the film's outcome is easily predictable (as most heroic children's movies are). Still, "Kung Fu Panda 4" relishes the classic and silly humor that the franchise has continued to bring since its origin.

Bob Marley: One Love 2024
As much as I enjoyed listening to the few hit Bob Marley songs and the strong acting by Kingsley Ben-Adir (Bob Marley) and Lashana Lynch (Rita Marley), "Bob Marley: One Love" doesn't have much substance to it. The message of Rastafari is strong but the storytelling should have been stronger, given its long run time.
