  Conclave started out as a serious affair, with the extraordinary acting prowess on display and heightened sound design adding to the gravitas. But as the film progressed it became a lot less thematically impactful than I had initially expected and wound up serving an ending that felt pretty unwarranted given the all the cardinals’ prior behavior. This tension between serious political and religious themes and the goofiness made for a fun watch which had me engrossed the whole way through.

  It’s nice to see stories from the Forgotten (Korean) War get some attention though. Definitely not going to blow you away, but worth a watch
