Watching this on a plane leaving Japan is a vibe
Gorgeous movie! I don't think I liked it nearly as much as other people did but I see why it was huge when it came out and how it's still having an impact. I think if I rewatched this again I'd probably enjoy it a lot more.
Todd Phillips saw that Scorsese followed up Taxi Driver was a musical and decided that he also had to copy that. Never trust a sequel that man makes. The music adds nothing and it’s even worse when Joaquin Phoenix whispers all the lyrics.
Can’t remember the last time I disliked a movie I saw in theaters this much.
Went by really quick! Acting is fantastic and I think Jessie Eisenberg kicked ass writing and directing it. I liked that they gave you enough to go off of without explicitly explaining their backstories.
