  In the beginning of the movie we see Nick Dunne playing Life and Mastermind. The subtext here is that he has terrible taste in boardgames. Later on, in the woodshed, the two items Amy chose to display most prominently are Dominion and Race for the Galaxy—which, in my opinion, are among the best 2-player games of the 2010’s. What I’m trying to say here is that this is really a love story about boardgames.
