Sing Sing 2023
Took a minute to grab my attention but once it did… holy fucking shit. Unbelievable. An ironic metaphor of what art is. One of the greatest tragedies I’ve ever learned about that’s unfortunately far too common, but also a beautiful story about resilience.
Camera work was fantastic. Shot outside the prison when Divine G and Divine Eye talking about how clemency worked was special. Dialogue was spectacular + one of my favorite character arcs ever in Divine Eye.
Director choices were phenomenal and the casting job staying true to the roots was a cherry on top (and .5 stars worth).
