It comes down to gut instinct. A true war story, if truly told, makes the stomach believe - Tim O’Brien

Very few films recently have played with form in this way. This movie is tight and constrained in its narrative . It is claustrophobic and disorienting. It shows war as waiting, laughing, but, most of the time as pure survival. We move through the film with the soldiers in real time, there is no space for politics or morality. The film offers its audience something rare - to feel as if you’re experiencing something real, in real time - no fantasy, no escape.

This is actually the worst film I’ve ever seen. It doesn’t deserve half a star. It is not well written, its message is antithetical to what it appears to be trying to achieve, it utilizes shock value gore in the least developed way possible. If you enjoyed this, sincerely, what is wrong with you??

    Dinner in America

Painful watch. Written like a middle-schooler’s fanfic who googled a “list of bad words” and tried to include them all — like if Disney channel dialogue was R-rated. It’s so painfully self-aware of trying to be “edgy”.
