  honestly really disappointing! everything becomes flat and emotionally static when lending itself to 19th century poise. the film rests on its unvaried visual aesthetic to convey narrative and atmosphere; the uninspired score pushes forth the attempted emotion to marginal degrees. the film’s story is therefore hindered by its failure to bring any of its elements together. i’m surprised that robert eggers, who has previously created unique works, would present something so uninspired.

  started watching Emilia Perez, but found this to be a better use of my time
