Very critical of Chet baker but reverent of his music. I love how his beautiful, perfect songs soundtrack the story of his withered, self-centered life. Very haunting.

Grave of the Fireflies 1988
It’s trite af to say this, but I can’t believe an animated movie can be this good. I cried at it it was so good. None of that single tear, watery eyes bullshit, this was genuinely so fucking sad.
There’s not much to say besides that the animated format means a little bit of effort is required to empathize and understand the characters, but once you get past your predisposition to live action it’s easy. Also, bonus sad-points if you have a younger sibling.Translated from by -
Boiling Point 2021
Maybe best movie I’ve ever seen. That it is completely comprised of a single, 90 minute long take gives the movie a unique feel and transforms a scattered, almost mundane night into chaos incarnate. It puts us into the perspective of Andy and helps us understand the events in a way that wouldn’t be possible without this logistically nightmarish technique.
Also the acting is some of the best I have ever seen. Stephen grahams performance is literal perfection, and his masterful acting combined with the beautiful camerawork turned this movie into something really unique and crazyTranslated from by
