i wouldn’t trust my reviews… but i’d like if you read them.
“should pale death, with treble dread, make the ocean caves our bed, god who hears the surges roll, deign to save our suppliant soul.”
happy new years folks and cheers.
this year my life flipped upside down.
my year began with some bad news. what followed was some of…
a man of mischief and temptation.
a man of greed and tall tales.
an island inhabited by secrets and agony.
a light that draws curiosity and madness.
a neverending promethean limbo inflicted by the gods of the sea.
they say art is subjective… but not this.
this is a masterpiece.
the greatest film of all time.
damn. was pretty shocked at first to find out that this isn’t as acclaimed as i originally thought. however, on rewatch i was quite disappointed. it’s pretty boring and kind of a mess, with some odd character choices and questionable creative decisions. extra half star for roy batty monologue.
it’s astonishing how robert pattinson gets better with every role. one of the best of his generation. this reminded me a lot of okja and i was here for it. super fun and zany, even stupid at times, but with solid commentary on most things plaguing the world right now. while undoubtedly messy at times, it never loses its footing and remains consistently engaging. we are so back.
