It’s hard to watch a man throw everything away, yet Goodfellas keeps your eyes glued to the screen. Joe Pesci was manic and hilarious. Robert De Niro was subtly twitchy, full of nervous energy. The lead, Ray Liotta, was probably the least impressive of the cast. His character was abusive, slimy, arrogant, yet somehow sympathetic.
