  Actually really funny but, while I know it’s played for laughs, the main crux of the whole thing did just leave me feeling slightly uncomfortable most of the time. With a bit of fine tuning it could’ve maybe worked, but the way things were presented just gave a slightly uneasy vibe to the whole thing.

  That being said, did not expect to see a guy’s penis stuck in a Chinese finger trap today, a surprise to be sure.

  Hugely cathartic and earth-shatteringly emotional. Just such a profound display of childhood through the sunny liminality in which anything seems possible that Survival would use to such great effect three years later.

  Was also reminded of two of Duffy’s poems - Nostalgia and Stafford Afternoons - with regards to childhood and memory. A truly special film.

  Also nice to see Kiefer Sutherland expanding his CV in preparation for his defining role in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me.

  This is my favourite Tarantino out of the four I’ve now seen, but no matter how many witty lines and blood splatters (both of which are admittedly very engaging here) he throws at me, whenever Christoph Waltz is on screen his presence is everything. Am praying he’s in Tarantino’s final film because the combination of Waltz and Tarantino is magic.
