Theme of the plight of single mothers in contemporary Japan. Exploring the discrimination and negative view of divorced women. Urban setting and struggle of 21st century housing quality and price. Represents what I value in horror that it reflects real themes in its dramatic methods.
It is modern feminist cinema.
Feels somewhat didactic. Urban care of children. Quite brilliant.
