This biopic covering Winston Churchill's appointment as Prime Minister is amazing. In my opinion, this is one of Gary Oldman's best performances. Every scene is gripping, and he truly brings the character of Churchill to life. However, the film does suffer from multiple slower moments that can leave the audience unengaged for parts of its 2-hour runtime. Nonetheless, the strength of Gary Oldman and Kristin Scott Thomas's performances, along with the impeccable dialogue, overcomes the film's weak points, making it one of my favorite World War II movies.
