Kind of crazy that this is partially produced by James L Brooks with a composition from Hans Zimmer AND stars Cathy bates and Rachel Mcadams…I mean it was ok but I’d expect better, especially with some of the themes (eg. religion, motherhood and domesticity in the 70s) that just felt super undercooked

The characters in Maid were so well produced.
Paula’s character was a standout for me. It’s like all her unaddressed trauma forced her to focus outwardly, and that eventually became her undoing. The little bursts of psychosis, mixed in with her carefree, hippie-like attitude, were so fascinating—like her mind just couldn’t hold it together when things got too much. I bawled when Alex left her at the end. It felt selfish at first, but also so incredibly selfless.
