Almost Famous gets it soooo right- it understands what music does to people. This film well and truly wholeheartedly and brilliantly changed my life. Not only a great film about music, but all in all, a GREAT film.

What do you love about music? To begin with EVERYTHINGGGGGG

Cameron Crowe you are a genius, what a story. Simply captures the thrill, heartbreak, and sheer absurdity of worshiping art and the people who make it. If you’ve ever heard a song and felt, even briefly, that it explained your life better than you could- this film is your home. If not, listen harder buddy.

style over substance upon initial reflection. i think the film got lost in between the paths of making a interesting and meaningful social commentary and just creating a silly, flamboyant story about a mentally unstable boy. which left me feeling dissatisfied, as 2 brilliant directions were half arsed and gave the film a lack of anything true.
having said this!!! it was such an enjoyable watch! aesthetically, 10/10- i want dark acedemia, i want rich people summers, i want to…

Rewatching Once Upon a Time in Hollywood while reading Tarantino’s novel felt like stepping deeper into a world I never wanted to leave. 1969 Hollywood is painted with a dreamer's brush- the golden age is captured with a glow and an innocence...the myth before the reality sets in.

Some say the film is too long, too meandering, not “Tarantino” enough. But what do you want from a movie? For me, it’s simple- I want to be taken. Swept up, lost, immersed. And that’s exactly what Tarantino does. You really did just have to be there !
