Deliverance 1972
Went into this with a less than positive feeling around it, so I’ll start with things i did like. Loved the cinematography. Loved that they shot on sight. Loved dueling banjos. I think it made a really good case on the destruction of southeastern Appalachia thru the deliberate flooding of impoverished towns… which I wish they would’ve focused on. Kind of contradicts that statement when you characterize SE Appalachians as incest-loving, rapey, backwards, and stupid. In general, the Hollywood Evil…
