In all seriousness I lm not a fan of the original. It’s outdated, drawn out, and the characters feel predictably cliche. However the changes made by Warchus and company absolutely save this production. Essendine is suddenly relatable(ish) and not creepy?? Joe suddenly has drive and character of his own where his counterpart Joanna felt static and so clearly written by a man. Overall, I love Andrew Scott dearly I hope he never stops live theatre
