I'm not perfect but I'm here.

I don't take things too seriously as a general rule. Ratings may or may not be up to date.

    "I have forgiven them."

Mostly just Harvey Keitel's character being an animal for a straight solid hour. Not that that's a bad thing. But the biggest development comes during that raw, unfiltered scene between the Lieutenant and the nun with a hard-hitting conversation about faith and forgiveness. It's ugly and unfiltered but it's valuable. A pretty wild watch, even if there isn't much to take away from it until the time it's almost over. It's an intriguing look at someone staring down the barrel of going to hell, and struggling to understand the how and the why of forgiveness.

"It's the tide. It's the dismal tide. It's not the one thing."

For me, I think it should be to hold onto what is dear and accept that we do not always know the plan charted for us in life. Others might leave it to chance,…

"I guess what I'm saying is that, uh, life is... fragile."

Probably one of the best endings ever - obviously it's hard to forget the image but man did I still tear up a bit revisiting it. Such a well-rounded and effective film, and one that rewards keen eyes and a good rewatch.
