From Dark Depths
A remake of the original silent film, Robert Eggers sprays a new coat of paint over the original story. Keeping the staple points yet forming something fresh and exciting. The fear of Count Orlock, otherwise known as the Nosfetatu, is so well done. His voice shows age, his powers through shadow is terrifying and his ruthlessness feels harrowing. He is powerful and our main character is defenceless in protecting his newly wed wife. Without spoilers I can sit her and rant on but the best way to experience this film is to watch it. It’s terrifying and so interesting.
