watched with my parents and we managed to predict the entire last 30 minutes…. except we predicted a kiss (where was the kiss!)
regardless i enjoyed this more than i probably should’ve… the country music, the bigasstruck, daisy edgar jones and glen powell… the little details that didn’t make sense… loved it
I cried the whole way through I cannot believe i’ve been putting this off for so long. Literal poetry turned film… this touched me where so many other films fail to do so. Moonlight feels like you’re reading someone’s journal while they watch, it’s actually so beautiful and emotional.
Composed of some of the most beautiful shots I've seen in a film, Helter Skelter is a visual masterpiece. Erika Sawajiri was perfect as Lilico,, the supporting actors did fine as well.
While many criticise it as shallow, or thematically simple, I see it as a snapshot of what happens when we prioritise beauty over all else. For me that was enough (mostly because the cinematography was so gorgeous- had that been lacklustre maybe my opinion would be different).
