This one's a play. A very very very fucked up play.
The performances are great, in a very exaggerated way. It's all very well put together, and it has a lot to say. There are sequences in this that would feel at home in a modern horror film, others that would fit a giallo, and others still that would fit a better movie.
It is a confounding plot that serves one of the shallower Nelson Rodrigues twists. It all clicks…

A film that is so completely spiritual, that it feels less like a traditional movie than it does an epic poem. The characters are who they are, and the story is told by a series of episodes that set up the inevitable end.
One must forgive some technical issues, and the dubbing, as this is a movie from the days when Nélson had an accent mark and Sant'anna had an apostrophe. But the sublime handheld camera work…
This one's a cool little short story with Hellboy in it. It's refreshing that it's not about saving the world from destruction or about the main character's origin, or whatever. It's just a hellboy story, like the comics.
I really liked it, even though it's not a great movie. I think there's a lot of charm in this picture and a lot of fun to be had with it if you get in the right mood.
