    Halloween film (5)

    FILM OF THE YEAR

Yeah so this film is absolutely insane. People aren’t exaggerating when they say that. I mean I can’t compare this film to anything I’ve ever seen before cause there is nothing else like this. The only film I can maybe compare it with is “The Thing” due to the absolutely phenomenal practical effects. The performances are all fantastic, in particular Demi Moore. She gives a very personal performance as she herself relates to…

One of the most powerful films that I’ve ever seen. An artistic masterpiece is my best description of the film. I’ve not had a film stick with me for a few days in a while, but this one sure has. I had to watch a few “explanation” videos to understand it (I still don’t fully understand it) and once you sorta grasp it, it becomes one of the most mesmerizing and fascinating films ever made.

So firstly before I begin my…

A very good yet pretty straightforward film that expertly explores the themes of greed and corruption.

With a film like this, which is mostly dialogue, great performances and a great script is needed in order for the film to succeed. The performances in this film are phenomenal in particular Michael Douglas. It takes great skill to play a character that is so likable yet so corrupt, and Douglas rises to the challenge. Charlie Sheen is also great as the protagonist…

The girls were prisoners to their captors, Gyllenhaal was a prisoner to the case, Paul Dano was a prisoner to Hugh Jackman, Jackman’s wife was a prisoner to her emotions, and Jackman’s character is a prisoner to himself…

Hugh Jackman gives what is easily the best performance of his career, and Gyllenhaal does the same except slightly better. Gyllenhaal while widely known for his role in “Nightcrawler” ends up giving (after…

    The Boy Next Door

Took a break from 90’s thrillers and tried a rather unknown modern day thriller. That was a grave mistake.

One of the worst thrillers I’ve ever seen. Everything in this film is terrible. The acting is awful, the direction is nonexistent, and there’s some of the most cringy dialogue ever spoken. Sadly this wasn’t even a film that was so bad it’s funny, it was just painfully bad. The film thinks of itself as some great innovative film, when in reality it’s the exact opposite. The only reason it gets 1 star is for how good Jennifer Lopez looked.
