  Sat on this for a day because I wasn’t sure how to articulate why this film pissed me off so much. 

  Visually and technically immaculate like you’d expect from an Eggers film, but shallow, pedestrian and borderline goofy in every other way. A film so rooted in lust and appetite somehow managed to be so unsexy and dispassionate. Dafoe gets points for a batty performance matching how absurd this movie felt at times. I noticed every bit of its 132 minute runtime. This film made me want to shave my moustache off.

  A true test of grit and patience. Why the fuck was it so long? Old mate from the SpongeBob musical was somehow the least insufferable character. A wet dream for Disney Adults and racists.
