  I saw part of this as a kid and was curious about the rest. It’s okay, nothing special to me. Does what it says on the box.

  This film says absolutely nothing. It’s nicely made but hollow. Presenting something like civil war with nary a pinch of context is a coward’s choice. I was expecting inconsistent, not empty. It doesn’t even have a coherent thru-line on conflict journalism. I will give the cast their kudos, they do a lot to elevate the leaden material. I don’t need a film to perfectly align with what I think, but I do need it to say something if it wants to wear the veneers of subversion.

  Fun movie with a great performance from Pattinson. Lots of good choices about where to excise and tighten the source material. The creepers are perfect. There are a few moments that sag and a few that feel off, but there’s a lot to like.
