A stellar performance from Gene Hackman and an ending/reveal that I was never expecting. This film does such an incredible job of steering your vision and predictions in one direction whilst encapsulating you within Harry Caul’s delusions and paranoia. I’m glad to say that this shocked me in how terrifying it was and it built up suspense and dream scenarios better than a lot of thrillers can. I love how this movie builds up information as the recorded conversation slowly begins to unveil at the same time. The entire finale of this film was just simply incredibly acted and directed and edited. RIP Gene
