“…poetry, beauty, romance, love- these are what we stay alive for!”

One of the most emotional, poetic and heartbreakingly intense films I’ve ever watched- the deep-rooted tragedy of Laura Palmer’s character is something that Lynch made sure we will remember for years to come. I admire the darker turn the film has from the series for the plot, the tension maintained the whole way through
The sadomasochism went from 0 to 100 real quick, bit wild on the writing side (it is a genuinely intriguing story despite the wild shit) BUT I vibe heavily with the score and cinematography.
Representing feminism in such a real and raw format is difficult, but not for Greta Gerwig. Showing the reality of today’s society where women are objectified, feeling we are never good enough versus an imaginary land where healthy feminism exists, then proceeding to mix these universes and overcoming toxic masculinity in Barbieland is a very powerful statement on how our society needs to grow.
Absolutely amazing film!
