This is a low 3 and the only reason I’m giving it higher than 2 stars is because I was actually impressed by the “monsters” and the horror elements it skirted around. I wish it committed to those elements wholesale and became something a bit more akin to The Descent. Instead it felt like watching three separate movies — one about starcrossed lovers, an espionage/corruption thriller and a creature feature with just the surface level of unique worldbuilding.
None melded together well and only one of those movies was at all interesting. Tons of plotholes and a criminal waste of Sigourney Weaver’s talents. Alas.
