Purple Noon 1960
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
While I love how evil Ripley is in this, I feel that his motives are a bit too unclear. In the book, it's a mix of lust/envy/obsession but this movie removes a lot of the complications of Philippe/Dickie and Tom's relationship. They do include the class element but I wish it had been highlighted more, instead of a lie that Tom makes up. I don't buy his transformation into Dickie as much in this movie, even though he not only steals Dickie's life but his fiancee.

I Saw the TV Glow 2024
I think the most interesting part of this film was how my dad and I reacted to it. I (a trans teen) saw it as a cautionary tale with a slightly hopeful message.
