Could not stop laughing. Found myself wondering, were these phrases cliche before this movie or because of this movie? "Have you paid your dues, Jack? Yessir, the check is in the mail."
Pretty sure the color green was described at least a dozen times, and jade was the word used for 9 of them.
Thunder, Rain, and Lightning are top tier goons
The part when the music cuts after seeing the hippy girl for the first time -- Cliff's flashback to Bruce Lee and then "fair enough." -- the switch up and narration in the third act -- all of these parts worked so well for this film, and for maybe the first time I started thinking ok maybe I get the hype around QT.
But then, too many feet (get the dogs off my screen QT you perv), and the length of the movie felt very self-indulgent. I did like the mythological blending of history and fictional characters, and the ending was hilariously satisfying, albeit gruesome.
Bnw was a lot of fun. Had some silly parts, sure, but what do you expect from a movie based on comic books? Great action, Anthony Mackie's very likeable as cap.
