I love the idea of a series of one-shot episodes, but ultimately it needs to be in service of something. Episode 3 used this perfectly as a vehicle for tension building, but the other episodes fell flat and the trope of a single shot did nothing to enhance the story or viewer experience. The child performances (excluding the actor who played Jamie who was fantastic) were particularly weak and really could have benefited from the opportunity for so many more…
