    Trading Places

    ★★★★½

Trading Places is a wonderful comedy with charisma and charm to spare.

The beauty of the film rests in its premise; both principal leads start out as exaggerated caricatures who develop into human beings, inciting both excellent comedy and satisfying character arcs.

Watching Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd play off each other is delightful; their comedic and dramatic talents are on full display and do not disappoint. This film is one of the best stories of unlikely friendships in the…

    Amsterdam

    Amsterdam is dreadful.

A stacked cast, period-accurate sets and costumes, and a competent director are all wasted in Amsterdam, a film with nothing to truly offer. Its plot is meandering, its dialogue is unnatural, and its message about art/love/life is simultaneously overstated and understated.

They take the well known characters from the fables of Robin Hood and portray them as vulnerable and fallible people who have passed the point of their heroic exploits.

    The strength of this film…

    Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2

    ★★★★★

Every Iliad has its Odyssey, and such is the case with Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey II. While many sequels buckle under the burden of their own weight, 2 Blood 2 Honey soars like an eagle to dizzying heights of horror, suspense, and heartbreak.

Though Christopher Robin was robbed of his fiancé, he was not plundered of his dreams to become a doctor. He has found a life of troubled peace, burdened with guilt and tortured by half-remembered dreams of anguish.…
