That Obscure Object of Desire 1977
Words can't express how much I love Buñuel's wonderful surrealist movies. So far, he is definitely my favourite director.
This movie tells us the story of Mathieu, an old rich man who tries to seduce his newly employed chambermaid, Conchita, by buying her love, hence the title "That Obscure Object of Desire", suggesting the main theme even before watching the movie, that of female objectification. Mathieu does not want Conchita so much as he wants to own her.
