It's crazy that Stephen Chow made this and then dipped, he knows he'll never top this (Journey to the West, The New King of Comedy and CJ7 doesn't count). It feels like everything he's always wanted to make yet it never feels self-indulgent. It feels like a tribute to kung-fu cinema/HK cinema in general. This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
The Social Network is one of the greatest and most important films of the 2010s. Yeah it's a biopic about the creation of Facebook but it's more focused on the means rather than the end, it's a criticism/character study of Mark Zuckerberg himself and it doesn't try to justify his actions either. I love how this movie's theme was established in its opening scene, the theme being of course:
