David Lynch films are always difficult to put into words, and Inland Empire is no exception. This is the most experimental and challenging Lynch film I’ve seen, which is saying a lot. It completely abandons traditional storytelling, unfolding like a fever dream, hypnotic, fragmented, and deeply unsettling. Despite its intimidating three-hour runtime, I never felt its length. If anything, I wanted more by the end. The choice to shoot on digital video gives the film a raw, nightmarish quality that…

This film seriously makes a compelling case for the greatest film ever made. Ennio Morricone’s score is nothing short of legendary, arguably the greatest film score of all time. Sergio Leone’s direction and storytelling are masterful, completely redefining the western genre in every way. The third act is an extraordinary cinematic achievement, blending breathtaking tension (that final duel, man *chef’s kiss*) with profound anti-war themes. Not to mention, the performances are nothing less than phenomenal. Despite its three hour runtime,…

I’ve never related to a quote more in my life than this one from the documentary: ‘I can’t listen to the Beatles in a casual way.’

The Beatles are the greatest band of all time, and this documentary does a fantastic job of capturing their significance. Not just in music but in history. It highlights the cultural impact of their arrival in America, particularly in the wake of JFK’s assassination, and how they basically helped a grieving nation heal.

I absolutely adore this film. It’s easily one of my favourite modern horror movies. A fantastic slow-burn slasher, it’s grotesque, terrifying, and incredibly fun. It perfectly captures that classic ’70s slasher vibe that I can’t get enough of.

One of the best films of the year. Extremely clever, undoubtedly stylish, and absolutely thrilling beyond belief. I was honestly gripped from start to finish. It’s one of those films where you think you know what’s happening, but then you quickly realise, you don’t. This film utilises non-linear storytelling so unbelievably well, constantly misleading the viewers, until finally bringing it all together but not in the ways you’d expect. I’m honestly speechless, I was not going into this thinking it…
