I was certainly disturbed at the disturbing parts and scared at the scary parts. Very interesting historically, you can tell enormous thought was put into this.
A but inconsistent with the cinematography. As I understand this was filmed in near sequential order so you can tell the lighting and framing get better over time.
This might be a shallow dive but the decision of Orlando to not kill guy and take command of Jerusalem because he does not want to have blood on his hands is stupid and Ridley Scott should feel bad. Kill one man and avoid a war that will result in thousands of deaths on both sides? It fits his “character” I guess if you can even say that he has one. Worst plot line of any Ridley Scott film I have seen so far.
Fantastic look at the Commonwealth Air training program. A real love letter to Canada’s war effort. Worth watching for the wartime images of Canada. Also who can forget the Billy Bishop VC cameo.

Production design and cinematography where very good but not revolutionary. Costumes where very well done, the research shows very well. However the way it was adapted from the book is poor. Events that where large parts of the book where massively condensed or not included all together. Events that where small are expanded upon needlessly leaving the film feeling rather empty.
