The Brutalist 2024
When a film is long enough as to justify an intermission, I need to agree with the director that absolutely no shot or scene was dispensable. This was unfortunately not the case. The type of film that despite enjoying a lot of it, I could never rewatch.
It seems a somewhat obvious approach to infer that the brutalist's influence was the brutality of his own life, but undertandable. As a director, death, abuse, addiction etc are tools in your arsenal…

Funny, sad, believable and unbelievable all at the same time.
Ani's character feels like an adopted Ocelot: fierce, beautiful but clearly not in her native habitat. You want to be her friend but are also scared of her bite.
