Terribly ridiculous pacing issues, confusing narratively, but stunningly beautiful. Megalopolis will deliver unbelievable set pieces and visuals, but a ragged narrative with a plot as dense as jelly. The whole film is littered with flaws, but it has so much love and care put into it.

I truly believe in a decade or two, the narrative around this movie will have done a 180, given how intertwined it is with Coppola and his legacy. I’m happy this was made, and…

    🎃SPOOKTOBER #4🎃

Understated, underrated in the most complimentary way. An absolute masterclass in acting from Anthony Hopkins and a stellar performance from Jodie Foster which isn’t spoken of enough. Grotesque imagery, morbid themes, and stunning cinematography & script which gripped & entrapped me like an anaconda.

A Sam Raimi directed, Sharon Stone led western with a backing cast like this should’ve been so much cooler, sorry

I know it's the stereotypical Wes Anderson commentary, but his films are fucking gorgeous, and Asteroid City might be his sweetest. Every single frame is meticulously crafted to be the most pleasant it could be. The outfits are fantastic, and I loved the play sections being represented by black and white with occasional splashes of vibrancy. The contrast is perfect. I always come to Wes Anderson for an exercise of my senses, and this did not disappoint.

    Alien: Romulus

    ★★½

Cailee Spaeny is excellent, and the practical effects are epic. On its own merit, Romulus is a fun time. The supporting cast was fine, specifically Jonsson.

This has a summer blockbuster feel which definitely dragged aspects of the film down. I didn’t enjoy the callbacks & references to the original which tried to bridge the gap, seemingly in an attempt to legitimise itself. I would’ve loved to see a self-contained, unique Fede Alvarez attempt at an all out horror Alien film.…
