Violence Voyager 2018
The film has two fun elements going for it: Ample amounts of grotesque imagery and the insanely cool gekimation style. I enjoyed both, and yet I was still left incredibly bored. The voice acting is rough, the pacing egregious, and I really found it lacking any sense of tension.
Despite my negative feelings towards the movie, I do hope this director continues making movies in this art style. The seeds of something more interesting seem to be there.

No Country for Old Men 2007
This is a bizarre one for me. While I feel that the novel does such a better job of depicting the themes of unstoppable forces and a changing world, I also believe this movie is an incredible standalone piece.
There are just so many aspect that are improved in this film: from the cadence of conversations to the small character details that really shine in a visual medium. These and other aspects are improved to such an extent that I'm able to overlook parts (such as Bell's history in Vietnam) being removed to allow for a reduced run-time.
