  If I could cut out the 45 minute chunk of the movie that takes place in the modern day, this would be one of my favorite movies ever made, however, that section drags the movie down so much that it become mediocre

  Stylistically rich, with visually interesting locations, shots, and framing. The story, or lack of story, which this film is famous for was extremely hard to invest in as there was almost no narrative at all. And while that is the point of this film, I still found it very difficult to digest.

  The Big Lebowski 1998

  Good funny performances all around. I can see why it has the following it does. Personally, I felt the movie was at its best at the bowling alley, and the crime aspect really took away from the movie as a whole. Also the female characters in this movie are written terribly. They exist merely as plot devices and sexual objects. Overall not the great movie I was expecting. Steve Buschemi is great though.
