Moonlight 2016
Maybe I dont watch enough films, actually I definitely don't, but Moonlight for me was up there with my all time favourite coming of age dramas.
The cinematography displays the setting, Miami, in such a gorgeous way but not in the ways you'd expect. Far from the stereotype of glitz and glamour, its shows Miami in a way that feels nostalgic yet new, but still undeniably beautiful.
Filmed in 3 parts with entirely different actors, everyone plays their part beautifuly gradually showing us the progression of the protagonist Chiron's coming of age.
