  Was 2024 the year critics went out of business? I'm not trying to be that guy, but I found myself drawn to the more polarizing flicks this year—Megalopolis, Folie à Deux, Here... I actually had a lot of fun with them. It’s comical to think that Conclave is being pushed as an Oscar frontrunner, when it’s frankly complete & total 🗑️ .

  Vera Drew’s (The People’s Joker) review says it best: "From dinosaurs to Ben Franklin. Movies are supposed to be this on the nose, you fucking hipsters." Couldn’t agree more.

  Zemeckis is a melodramatic hack nearly 90% of the time, but then there’s Cast Away—a movie that actually works, and it’s shockingly good. Even though I can’t stand Forrest Gump, I’m not at all surprised that Here landed with me.

  Absolutely terrific, makes me feel like when you get home from a long day of work in December. You take your jacket off, wrap yourself in a blanket and take in comfort from the people around you.
