I was lucky enough to see this restoration as part of EIFF's new classics strand spotlighting rebellious voices in American independent cinema, in collab with Cinema Rediscovered. Having seen the other films of the strand (Cauleen Smith's Drylongso, Wayne Wang's Life is Cheap...But Toilet Paper is expensive, and Bette Gordon's Variety) at CR earlier this year, it was such a treat to complete the collection watching TOKYO POP with writer/director Fran Rubel Kuzui in attendance to intro the film.
