The Substance 2024
this movie is so genuinely overrated and just so bad. i gave it half a star cuz it ended. thank god. tried to execute it’s message in such a lazy way. we get it. woman face judgement and scrutiny for aging and are pressured to look a certain way. if you’re going to tackle this message, let’s do it in a more meaningful less on the nose way. this movie made me so angry because of how much i hated it

i loved this film. triangle of sadness has a unique pacing that i have not really seen in movies before. it did an incredible job at creating a tense and uncomfortable environment all while being extremely entertaining throughout. at first glance, a viewer might find the second half slow and less captivating than the first, but it’s that latter half where we see-what i find to be- the main topics; money, greed, power dynamics and hierarchies come to fruition. whether…
