I feel bad rating anything with Melanie Lynskey this low, but this is a real misfire. Really good cast but the script is pretty bad. Especially the insistence on having a certain legal status attached to the main character be entirely played for laughs when that would actually be a life-ruining thing. It’s bizarre and a real waste of Melanie and Judy Greer although the bits that are just the two of them together are charming. Justin Long is also fine, but since he’s responsible for the bad script, I’m kind of mad at him.
