It’s definitely more “arthouse” than what I’m used to, that’s what really made me appreciate it ambiguously stylistic format even more. I felt as if the narrative wasn’t always clear and notably the directors use of dead pan delivery(characteristic of his artistic directions) really allowed for shock to be used but not in a way that shock the audience rather in a way that desensitised the viewers to the violence occurring so that a deeper meaning might contemplated.
