Really liked Rochelle and Vanessa's story, the most engaging stuff here. Did not favor either episode focusing on the love life of charatcrs, whether the adult umpire, or the boy Yuwen.
Laurie and Ira's episodes were just relatable for me.
The final two episodes haven't aired yet, but if they top episode 3 with Rochelle, I'll be very impressed. Rochelle is so far the character most sympathetic to me, and she has the most agency and independence out of all of them, given her situation. Her story goes the most places, second only to her mother Vanessa's story.
Being generous with the star rating here. But it is a genuinely good movie, just lays it on thick sometimes.
