the beauty about this film is how they’re able to balance the pacing, which is slow and beautiful, with the intensity of love growing between two people. i really enjoyed that story and the tragedy of growing up, losing loved ones, and building a life for yourself. i thought the complexity of saorise’s character shined through and was portrayed remarkably.

a very fun film with a deeply talented mikey madison leading the way. thinking back to me at 23, this is definitely one of those films that reminds me what a beautiful whirlwind and dream (but also nightmare) it was. all of the desires, temptations, ambitions, and fears of anora were strategically placed and what we do see in a glance, as she’s holding her face, staring out the window, hugging herself, is so great. it’s equally hilarious, sad, and exciting. enjoyed the cast of characters completely and the ending is exactly perfect. great film.
